I feel indebted to Israel for the following reasons: God gave the world Israel. Without Israel, I probably would not know God, or the Messiah, or know about the patriarchs and the prophets. Israel developed, and shaped my soul. From a historical perspective and for what God has done through Israel, I cannot by conscience, stand by to see further suffering inflicted upon this precious nation and its people, through the iniquities of other nations and their peoples.

Gerry

I stand for Israel because just as every man, woman or child has the right to life, any group of people has the right to live in the land that is rightfully theirs -- a land they tilled and made prosper out of their own blood, sweat and tears. A land that was a birthright and and owned by their ancestors even before it was taken from them. A land that God Himself promised was theirs. I will stand for Israel and its people because no one has ever been persecuted and violated as they have been for offenses they never committed. And because the world refuses to acknowledge the atrocities commited against them, I and the rest of my family will stand for them. We will be there friend.

Since my childhood, when the Arabs attacked Israel in 1967, something has told me that Israelis are the people of God. Since that time, l always pray to God to help the nation and its people. As l grew up to become a man of my own with my lean income l have been supporting Israel financially through this fellowship and by buying their publications. Israel is a peaceful, loving nation. l call all Christians and non-Christians alike to support this nation as they fight for their survival. l pray that the good Lord will continue to protect and fight for his own people, Israel.

When I was a little boy, my Christian parents told me of the Holocaust. Shortly afterwards, I saw the movie "The Diary of Ann Frank." I did not cry in front of anyone, but used the privacy of my bedroom that night to cry for a little Jewish girl I would never meet. My father died on my 8th birthday. Our Jewish grocer, Mr. Krapin, a WWII vet, brought BOXES, not bags, but BOXES of groceries to my bereaved mother. He never asked for a dime. That introduced me to the Jewish community. I fell in love with a Jewish girl at age 20. She died the next year, breaking my heart. Why else do I stand for Israel? They are God's chosen people. Besides, my Savior, Jesus Christ, was a Jew. There is not enough room in this correspondence to list all of the Jews who have made a positive experience in my life. We could start with Abraham, go to David, Matthew, Mark, etc. all the way to Mr. Krapin. All I know is that Jews are a joy to God and and a joy to me. The Land of Milk and Honey will never be destroyed; that is one thing that I know. And, I will always be there for God's People. Shalom.

I came to realize many things in my life the past few years and also started to see things in a more clear light. We are living in a very fast-paced changing world, and now, more than ever, we need to be together. We are lucky to have Israel with us in this struggle. Israel has become a nation of advanced technologies in many sectors. Its amazing to read and hear about these achievements. I would love to become more involved somehow. I'm not exactly sure where I would fit in, but I do know that I can be helpful in many ways. Israel now more than ever needs all the help she can get. All we need to do is look all around us to see who is staring at us and who is wishing for our destruction and demise.

Elizabeth

I will always stand for Israel. They are God's people, and the apple of his eye. I think every one should stand and bless this precious nation of God, for we should appreciate God's image. I am so proud there is still a nation like Israel ... Thank God for Israel. Thank you Rabbi for speaking and standing up for God's people.

Catherine

I stand for Israel because the Jewish people are God's chosen people. Israel was given to the Jews by God and no one should try to take their land away from them.

As a born again Christian I believe the whole Bible to be the Word of God literally. As an American I find it difficult to tolerate any prejudice. My mother had many Jewish friends and never once spoke an unkind word about them. She taught us to respect and honor the Jewish people as God's chosen vessels. The Bible teaches the same.

It's "a G-d thing." I grew up a Lutheran; "Sola Scriptura" - scripture alone - was drilled into me as Luther's battle cry against the Catholic Church's doctrines. (It became mine against the Lutheran Church's.) When faced with the teaching of Replacement Theology as a young adult, The Almighty's eternal covenants (Abraham, Sinai) repeated often in Torah and by the prophets were where I made MY stand. The deed states Israel's ultimate claim on the territory from the great river in Egypt to the Euphrates. During the Second Lebanon War, my heart was with the Israeli people; I wanted to be there with them, making a stand with them. I cried to the Almighty, asking why I felt this so intensely. Two months later I discovered a fact lost generations before: my mother's maiden name - from my grandfather, the Lutheran school teacher - translates from Hebrew: "My King." Apparently, there is truth to the old saying that blood is thicker than water - that there truly is something (literally) inside of me crying out for that tiny nation and her people. I honestly never see myself forsaking Israel; my destiny is tied to hers.

There simply is no other choice for we who have been grafted into the covenant blessings God made with Abraham. We are commanded to do so from the Bible: "I will bless those who bless you." As a Christian - from the islands of the seas (Trinidad), I know that God will perform His word to the very minute detail, and it will serve us well to be obedient to the word of the Living God. Even though the international foreign press generally paint a negative picture of Israel the nation, its people and what values they stand for, we Christians need to examine everything in the light of God's word, His promises and His purpose. Shalom.

I grew up with a stepdad who hated Jews and black people. Then I had two wonderful teachers in grade school, a Jewish woman and a black man. My stepdad found out who they were and took me out of the class. His efforts to make me hate these people only made me see how evil prejudice can be. Then when I became a Christian and started reading the Bible, My love for Jews grew even more. As God said; I will bless those who bless them, and curse those who curse them. I find myself repeating this scripture a lot, as there are so many people that are ignorant to the word of God. But, as the Bible says the truth will set you free. I have witnessed people change their attitudes.

Cheryll

Basically, Jesus was a Jew and I owe my salvation and faith to the Jews. I pray every day for the peace of Jerusalem and that God will remember His promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and that, for His name's sake, He will bless His people Israel.

Diana

I feel a great need to stand for Israel now because of the growing danger and hatred for Jewish people all over the world. I believe the God of the Bible when He says "I will bless those that bless you and curse those that curse you". As Americans, God has truly blessed our country and I think we as a nation need to stand beside Israel now more than ever.

Deanie

I stand proudly for Israel first and foremost because they are God's chosen people. He will protect them as He promised, and He has warned that those who stand against them will not be blessed. I also am a descendant of a Jewish woman, who was my great-great grandmother, which gives me an extra love for the people. Israel has been persecuted for so long, but God will defend them! I am standing in that corner, and NEVER will I move from that spot! Shame on those who are anything less than respectful and caring of this highly-favored country and people. God will prevail and will bring His people together. He promises that victory, and the nations that have turned against them will be destroyed. God bless Israel!

Helena

I stand for Israel because God is faithful to her. Israel is so unique because of God's covenant with her. Even though she is a small nation, she stands apart in excellence. She is world renowned for technological inventions and advances and her military. Her organized response to the needs in Haiti bring glory to God. I admire Israel very much and am grateful to be connected through the Holy One, Jesus Christ. May the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob magnify His blessings upon all of Israel!

Raul

As a Christian I believe it is my duty to stand for and by Israel at all costs. I love all the people in the world but, God has chosen you, oh Israel, and that is enough for me to be loyal to you. I thank God for your existence . God bless Israel! By the way, I'm an American soldier who has fought in Iraq and is here in Afghanistan ... I will always pray and stand with Israel!

Nancy

Israel is not just a land, it is the covenant people of God. He made a covenant with Abraham that the land he was on would be theirs forever, and "forever" has not come to an end yet. Jacob and Moses were also given this promise by God Himself. The world needs to read this book, called the Bible -- the greatest book ever.

Jane

My love for Israel began with a Jewish childhood friend. She and I were born on the same day, same year, within the same hour. As I matured, I learned about the Jewish origin of my Catholicism. I watched the birth of modern Israel and admired the hard work and pluck of those new Israelis. Last year I had the great good fortune to visit Israel and it was one of the great emotional experiences of my life. Politically, Israel is not only the sole democratic middle eastern country, but she shines as a beacon to the world for human accomplishment. May she stand strong. Long live Israel!

Back in 1954, when I was 15, I saw a gold Star of David in a jewelry store and I was so drawn to it I had to have it, it was beautiful. I was not a Christian then and didn't even know what it was but I bought it. The jeweler asked me "are you Jewish?" I told him no I just had to have that necklace. Then in the 1970's I read all of the novels by Leon Uris about WWII and the Israeli people and their struggle for their country. It just moved me, my heart ached for their struggles. I've felt a kinship with them from that time on. As a Christian I feel such empathy for what they go through from day to day ... We as Christians owe everything to the Jewish nation. They are our brothers and sisters. They gave us Jesus our Saviour, the prophets, the Bible. All of the New Testament leaders were Jewish. Without the Jewish Nation there wouldn't be Christianity. It's our duty, as brothers and sisters worshiping the same God, to defend Israel and the Israeli people. God blessed America because of Israel according to Genesis 12:3. If we believe the Bible then we keep His word.

Bruce

As a evangelical pastor I preach a message at least once a year that it is the responsibility for Christians to stand with Israel. I inform my church and everyone that I speak to of the fact that the need to stand for Israel is found in the Scriptures, according to Genesis 12:3 and other passages. As Christians we owe a great debt of eternal gratitude to the Jewish people -- from the Holy Scriptures to many of the modern techologies that we enjoy. I will always stand with Israel and her people.

Carolyn

I stand for Israel because the Bible teaches that these are God's chosen people, and further that God will bless those who bless Israel, and will curse those who curse Israel. That is all I need to take a stand for the people and land of Israel. However, if more is needed, I guess I would say that I have a soft spot for those who are bullied by others. Israel is a tiny nation which has been persecuted by most of the world for most of world history. The people have a right to protect themselves against the persecution and threats of being wiped out. Much of the news media seems to be biased and not reporting the truth of what is going on, and some of us are smart enough to see that. I would love to be able to give some encouragement to the Jewish people during these most difficult times, and remind them that He who keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps.

Susan

I support Israel because anti-Semitism is on the rise worldwide, and Israel is one of the few safe havens for Jews. I'm a frequent visitor to Israel and always feel at home there because I am treated with warmth and respect. I was very proud when Israel flew half way around the world to set up a medical tent, fully equipped with surgeons and modern medical technology, to aid the Haitian people. This act shows the true heart of the Israeli people.

Alta

I stand for Israel becuse Israel is God's chosen, beloved people. My father helped liberate the captives of Bergen-Belsen, and I have never forgotten the impact of him telling me about that. I want to do everything I can for the people that have given me my Jesus. Mostly, I love my Jewish friends and family and want them to know I care. God's promises to his people are forever!

Lisa

I stand for Israel because I believe that they have a right to exist as an independent nation. I don't think that anyone has a right to interfere with that, because the Bible said it would happen, and it did. I think that people should be supportive of Israel and the Jewish people. God commanded us as Christians to bless the nation of Israel and the Jewish people, and I think every Christian should do it as an act of worship and obedience to God. Christianity would not exist without our beloved Jewish brothers and sisters.

Lamar

I support Israel because I want and need God's blessings on my life and my family, especially during this time of financial uncertainty, and America's seemingly faulty support of that beautiful nation and people. If we are to survive as a nation, it is imperative as a "Christian" nation that we give as much support as we are blessed to give to the nation of Israel! God bless you Rabbi, and continue your passionate and unabated service and ministry!

Lee

My story is really a witness to the Bible as a whole. The Old Testament is a covenant to the Jews. It is a promise from the Living God through the faith of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob that Israel is the chosen nation through which He will be glorified. I believe the New Testament grafts the Church into that covenant, by faith, through the sacrifice and resurrection of our Lord and savior, son of God and Abraham, Jesus Christ. God will be glorified and his glorification will come through the shared faith of the people of His covenant. God keeps His promises. He remains faithful, so in return, I pray that I may remain faithful to Him and to His people.

Deborah

The Bible commands us to pray daily for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6), to speak out for Zion's sake (Isaiah 62:1), to be watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem (Isaiah 62:6) and to bless the Jewish people. As Christians we have a Biblical obligation to defend Israel and the Jewish people in their time of need. I do have a heart for Israel, in fact, just recently I found out that my Great- Grandmother was Jewish! I can't tell you how excited I was to find this out. I would love to live and work in Israel, a desire I know the Lord has laid on my heart and in my soul, but until the Lord should open that door, I consider it an honor to be a part of and contribute to the IFCJ!

Ira

Biblically, he who blesses Israel will be blessed and he who curses Israel will be cursed. As our family has blessed Israel, we have received blessings. God keeps His Word.
