Iran Executes Accused Spy for Israel

Iran this week executed a man they accused of spying for Israel and who they say was responsible for the assassination of an Iranian nuclear scientist two years ago.

Middle East Nations Say Israel is Greatest Nuclear Threat

At a 189-nation conference, Iran and other Arab nations in the Middle East claim that Israel poses the greatest nuclear threat because the United States has not signed a UN Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Violence Resumes as Syria Cease-Fire Falters

Deadly violence has started up again in Syria just two weeks after a United Nations-peace pact was reached. While the peace plan is still on the table, a sharp rise in deaths casts doubts on the U.N. mission in Syria.

Syria Peace Pact Unraveling

A fragile United Nations-brokered peace pact between government and opposition forces in Syria appears to have completely unraveled, as at least two Syrian cities have been shelled. Each side accuses the other of breaking the cease fire.

  • Switzerland has joined other European nations in imposing sanctions against Iranian businesses, stopping short of joining a blockage against Iran’s central bank.
  • Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu is disappointed over a five-week delay of the international community in dealing with Iran’s nuclear program.
