We’ve talked in the past about the tragic joke that is Durban, the United Nations World Conferences Against Racism. Given that the three Durban conferences held over the past ten years have been marked by rampant anti-Semitism, it might seem strange that CAMERA’s Dexter Van Zile is calling for another Durban conference.
But what he wants, he writes, is “a human rights conference worthy of the name.” Here are a few of the issues he’d like to see addressed:
We need a conference where Iraqi Christians, who numbered 1.5 million in 2003 and now number less than 500,000, can explain why they are leaving the country of their birth. They need a chance to make their case for an autonomous province in Iraq where religious and ethnic minorities can gather together against Islamists intent on making them disappear.
We need a conference where Coptic Christians can describe the church bombings, the abductions, the rapes and forced conversions they endure at the hands of Islamist in Egypt.
We need a conference where Christians, whose churches have been destroyed in Nigeria and Ethiopia, can describe the attacks they’ve endured at the hands of Islamists.
We need a conference where women who have endured beatings at the hands of the Taliban in Afghanistan can tell their story.
We need a conference where women who have been set on fire or have been splashed with acid by their relatives can tell their story.
If Dexter ever gets his wish, sign us up.

The Christians need to thank Israel that they have a place to live in a jewish country even though there are many countries that the Cristians could have gone. I praise to be kind to then.

It pains my heart over injustices that are all over the world not only on christians but christianity as a religion. I agree with all who propose that the conference be not moved out of DURBAN but let us watch and see even as Yawhe watches. Young people don’t know of Israel b/c they’ve taken God out of the schools. Even the “new” (1948) Israel is still Israel to God. Christians need to support both Israel AND the Jewish people.

As people move further from God’s word, the importance of supporting Israel becomes forgotten by many, therefore also learnt by less people of the new generation. There are even many christians who do not accept/understand the importance of supporting Israel. Let us all begin to understand that The Bible is the constitution of the Kingdom of Heaven, and no two thirds majority on earth can change that. Me and my family, we will serve THe Lord. This may sound like dispensational end times heresy, but I support Israel because it is the right ting to do in any context. Especially in the “end timer” belief, but it’s just the right thing to do. Israeli’s don’t share our view of the Second Coming, some Israeli’s would repel Evangelicals. I support the Israeli’s because it is a refugee state, a symbol of the struggle of a people discriminated for both religious and “race” factors, and a foci for the darkest aspects of human hatred and evil. Hatred and evil must not be allowed to triumph or it will become worse and worse and worse for all people.

Living in “The New South Africa” and having experienced the political transformation, I would NOT recommend any further conferences on Racism in this country. Claimed Christianity amongst its current leaders is not practiced and the anti Zionism and pro Islamic policies will only worsen. Find a true first world, objectively orientated country where Christians will be actually be heard and understood. This will not happen here, in my opinion.

As does Charles, I to live in “The New South Africa”, within 20km of the venue used for the Racism Conferences. I believe , and have experienced, that many of our leaders are “out of alignment” with regards to God’s Word and the true meaning of racism. That however should not be sufficient reason to take the Racism Conference elsewhere. If a person/group is propogating one thing, and using this as cover to convey something totally different, then they will eventually have to answer for their actions. By keeping the Racism Conference in Durban, South Africa, or moving it elsewhere, those exploiting it for personal gain, will be held accountable. Moving the venue will not change the message. God will protect His people at all times. Pray for discernment of the Word, and guidance of The Holy Spirit. All these things are in His Hands. Sine del Gloria.

The last South african I met and worked for me was from Capetown in the 90′s. He thought the end of apartheid was going well. Then I started reading a great deal about the influence of Marxcismn and redistributing the wealth and the increase of black on white crimes. Is that still as rampant as it became or have things settled down? Or is murder still excused because of political correctness and Marxisit truisnms that neither are true or even resemble Marx?

I stand for Israel and I stand for Jews. I am a Christian by birth, but my Grandfather was a Ukraine Jew. I was raised a Christian, but I totally support Israel and all Jews.
