Terrorists hit India

Three explosions rocked Mumbai’s business district yesterday, leaving 18 dead and scores more injured. This is the deadliest attack on India’s soil since 2008, when terrorists infiltrated Mumbai and killed 166 before being shot by security forces. Indian police hold the Indian Mujahideen, an Islamist terrorist group, responsible for the attacks.

Many people have argued that the source of Islamic terrorism is the Israeli-Palestinian conflict or the U.S. presence in the Middle East. The latest vicious attacks in India prove this false. Islamist terrorists hate the West and all non-Muslims. They will not be satisfied until we are destroyed. Why else would they target India?

The only way to defeat radicalism in the Muslim world is to stand strong in the face of terrorism, and to pre-empt attacks by destroying terrorists’ ability to launch such attacks. Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, secularists — all people who do not subscribe to the oppressive and hateful belief system of radical Islam – are considered worthy targets by Jihadists. It is time that we all stand united to defend the world from an ideology that seeks to undermine our way of life.
