A New York Daily News op-ed writer weighs in on the peace talks:
Faster than you can say “two-state solution,” the direct Israeli-Palestinian peace talks begun with such fanfare have hit their first huge obstacle: an utter unwillingness to budge on the part of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
Four days after meeting President Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu in the White House, Abbas told an Arabic West Bank newspaper he is not prepared to give. Not even an inch.

What do you think?

What a great article and again a missed opportunity for moving forward. As military leaders know, you can’t choose your enemy and you can’t make him do what you want. On a sunnier note, come read a blog about the better (and more positive) life in Israel: Tel Aviv real life: http://bit.ly/h0Xyw

There is no way there will be peace in Israel without a full understanding of what Islam is. The vast majority of people think it is a peaceful religion, and that it is marred by radicals. According to the Prophets own words, the goal of Islam is to eradicate Israel from the map. Jews and Christians the world over are in emminent danger from this psuedo religion. I desire peace, not just for Israel, but for the world as a whole. Without a clear understanding of Islam, there can be no peace.

I would very much appreciate the quotations you cite to come to the conclusion, “According to the Prophets own words, the goal of Islam is to eradicate Israel from the map.”

I have read extensively, and find a total mixed up mess…wandering this way and that, that exemplifies the un-educated and confused state of mind…that wrote it and reads it. Anything can mean anything, and everything is “Interpreted” that way.
Sura 9 By the blessings and praises of Allah.
[9.5] “So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush,”
Which on the surface seems pretty clear, but an Imam said that it only applied to a specific battle and should not be construed as the Intend and Desire of all Muslims and the Qur’an.
It is not my native language, I am not very versed in the culture and they seem to be able to use their book this way today, and another tomorrow. I get confused and scratch my head. A couple of Billion people, many that cant even read… are told someone’s interpretation, of an interpretation and so on.
As Will Rogers said, in the 1930′s…
“It isn’t what we don’t know that gives us trouble, it’s what we know that ain’t so”
It is like quoting Greek to someone that only speaks Chinese. What we have here is a total failure to communicate.
But, regardless of what they say, I have a quote I like that fits the situation.
“When words and actions disagree…I will believe actions,” works most every time.

Why not give??
Jerusalem has already given so much to Palestine, the West Bank.
Netanyahu wants peace obviously more then Abbas does.
It takes two, so if either one refuses to give, then there will never be peace in the Middle East.
Perhaps Abbas isn’t serious after all.
My prayers are with Israel and Prime Minister Netanyahu.
Peace. Shalom.
