The Rotunda & The Edicule at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre
If you’ve ever been to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, you won’t forget it. Located within the walled Old City of Jerusalem, this amazing building (which is also called the Church of the Resurrection) has drawn Christian pilgrims since the 4th century. Here, we see the edicule (small shrine) in the rotunda section of the church. Don’t miss even more great shots of Christian sites throughout Jerusalem. And be sure to visit next Friday to see where in Israel Photo Friday will take you next!

What do you think?

The only meaning it would hold for me as a Christian is the architecture, which is certainly beautiful. However, I prefer not to even see a cross where I worship- and no “scoreboard” either. Gets too close to idolatry. Sorry. Shalom.
