Snow is predicted in Jerusalem this weekend, and the city is bracing for it by putting salt trucks and snowplows at the ready. No, it’s probably not the kind of snowstorm that would qualify as a “blizzard” here in Chicago, but there’s something special about the idea of snow in the Holy City.
In 1942, people on Jaffa Road in Jerusalem enjoyed another snowfall with an impromptu snowball fight. Wish we could have seen what Jerusalem was like on that day 70 years ago — and we wish we were there this weekend to watch the flakes fly!
Shabbat shalom to all — and have a wonderful weekend.
