Mugrabi Bridge closure infuriates Palestinians

The Mugrabi Bridge, the only entrance for non-Muslims to the Temple Mount

If you’ve visited the Western Wall in Jerusalem, you’ve seen the Mugrabi Bridge, the only entrance for non-Muslims to the Temple Mount. Yesterday, Israeli officials closed the bridge after deeming it structurally unsound. Sounds reasonable, no? It’s the government’s job to protect the public by repairing unsafe structures. Well, apparently it’s not that simple:

Hamas warned Monday that the Israeli closure of the Mugrabi Bridge is tantamount to a “declaration of war” on Muslim holy sites. “This is a serious step that shows the Zionist scheme of aggression against the al-Aqsa mosque,” said Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhum in an interview with AFP. “This is a violent act that amounts to a declaration of religious war on the Muslim holy places in Jerusalem.”

Israeli officials closed the Mugrabi Bridge on Sunday for safety reasons, three days before the municipality deadline to close the ramp leading from the Western Wall plaza to the Temple Mount.

Elsewhere in the article, Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erakat says that the repair of the bridge is yet another example of Israel’s ”determination to judaize Jerusalem.” Ah, no, Mr. Erakat. Israel is not trying to “judaize” Jerusalem. She doesn’t need to. That’s already been done by thousands of years of history. Crack open a legitimate history book (not one of the textbooks you let your children “learn” from, but a real history book) or a Bible sometime … it’s all in there.

How many Islamic worshippers have died in Mecca by the hundred in stampedes and structural failures? It doesn’t seem to dampen their worship is it possible it contains a modicum of martyrdom for those who die? Maybe the Israeli’s should give in and say okay but we are warning you; people might die. Put the responsibility for saving life on the Islamists for a change.

I am so tired of hearing the Palestinians fuss about everything. If the bridge needs fixing, and they close it and fix it then re-open it, then whats the problem. The UN is a joke!! A real Joke!!

God wins, we loose if we do not choose His gift of salvation. I am praying for the Muslims to be visited by Jesus just as He did Saul. Saul had all the old testaments ‘T’ crossed and the ‘i’ doted but he did not know Gods son all of our savior. Saul became Paul and a new creation after meeting Jesus. That is what it is going to happen soon. Remember there is a great white harvet yet to come.
    Blessings

What if there was an accident and someone was hurt because of the bridge being unsafe, what do you think would be the response from Hamas? Hamas = stupidity on this one.

The claims of the leaders of the so called Palestinians are bullshit. They are talking about
an entrance solely for non-Muslims so closing the
gate for safety reasons shouldn’t matter to the
Palestinians. It is just an excuse for them to
attack Israel. Come Moshiach and let your enemies
    be scattered. Amen

But never turn our backs on this evil.We will prevail in the end. But we still have to protect what he give to us Lets us not be afraid and stand up in the name of the lord and protect; If it means war.

Propaganda by a population of 2.2 billion (nearly 30% of the worlds population)can be a very powerful thing. Israel is losing the propaganda and info war. The facts need a louder voice.

And as usual the world keeps quiet whenever violent, threatening, and inciting propaganda and exaggeration spew from muslims against Jews. The hypocrisy of the UN is nothing new. Time to shut it down.

Israel needs to take over the sites. Hamas and others have been trying to take over the freeworld for years. Pray for peace in America and Israel. There is no such land for peace.

As always, the “Palestinians” are looking for anything to get upset about; and their leaders are looking for propaganda issues. But, as usual, the “Abdul factor” is in play here. Their claims are so outrageous that only those predisposed to believe anything said by them would believe it.

Still, this could work to Israel’s advantage … let them “declare” the war and then Israel can legitimately take over all holy sites in and around Jerusalem. That would stop the wanton destruction of artifacts and documents by the Muslims. Shalom there, Imam.

Oh please! What’s with these “Palestinians”? Everyone has to bow and scrape to their “demands”. What about being pro-Israel for a change and ANTI-HAMAS? Don’t give in to those terrorists’ demands.

Patricia you are right on. Yes, indeed their victory will be fleeting. I spelled that word correctly for it is with two es not with ea. In
Ezekiel it speaks of Israel’s enemies being detroy
ed when they come against Jerusalem. In Isaiah it
speaks of those who claim Israel’s land G-d will
      come against them.
