Gaza
Recently, Hamas “foreign minister” Mahmoud Zahar said what everyone with eyes has known since 2005: Israel no longer occupies the Gaza strip.
You’ll remember that, in summer of 2005, Israel unilaterally withdrew from Gaza in a controversial and wrenching event that witnessed the terrible images of Jewish soldiers removing Jewish residents from their homes – often by force. Whatever your position on that action, the result was obvious to anyone: Israel ceased to occupy Gaza.
Even senior members of Hamas get it. But the U.N. still doesn’t.

What do you think?

Words persuade, overtly or subversively. The continued improper use of a term like “occupied” by the UN and the mainstream media influences the popular mindset; and is probably partly responsible for idiotic speeches by presidential hopefuls (Ron Paul) who blame the ills of the mid-east on Israel. This is why we must learn to speak out against such lies. The UN won’t, the media won’t, political leaders can’t be relied on and the blathering multitudes who refuse to think for themselves will only repeat and reinforce the lies they are told. We must be an influential force against these lies. Darkness cannot overcome light- a small candle on a hilltop can be seen for miles on the darkest night. If you or I stand up for the truth just once today, who knows how many will see the light or the effect it may have. Shalom.
