Latifa Abu Hmeid, who is the mother of four Palestinian terrorists, one of whom killed seven Israeli citizens, has been “honored” as the person who launched the Palestinian Authority’s unilateral statehood bid at the U.N. General Assembly. In a public event covered only by Arabic media outlets, Latifa lead a procession of Palestinians to the U.N. offices in Ramallah and handed over the official request.
Of course, the territories which are currently under the control of the Palestinian Authority are funded by the E.U. and the U.S. The Palestinians receive more aid per capita than any other people. Yet their government is more concerned with destroying Israel than it is with building the institutions and developing the infrastructure needed for a healthy, working state.
I guess the Palestinian Authority believes – with good reason – that the international community will continue to pour money into their coffers unconditionally. Unfortunately, it seems they’re correct – in the new “Palestine,” money will keep flowing in despite Palestinian aggression and the Palestinian Authority’s well-documented incompetence and corruption.
