Anti-Israel Jewish fringe group *hearts* Ron Paul

Ron Paul on the campaign trail with members of the Neturei Karta group

Anyone who’s been to a pro-Israel event in New York, Washington, or Jerusalem is familiar with the Neturei Karta – a fringe sect within Judaism that believes the State of Israel is illegitimate because it was not established by the Messiah. To be fair, there are a number of ultra-Orthodox Jewish groups that are anti-Zionist for that reason. None of them, however, take the extreme positions that Neturei Karta takes – protesting against the Jewish State (which is how most pro-Israel Jews know them), parroting the outrageous and slanderous claims of Israel’s most frenzied opponents, serving in the Palestinian cabinet of Yasser Arafat, visiting with (and embracing!) Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Now they apparently have a preferred candidate for President of the United States: Texas Congressman Ron Paul.

No, there has been no official endorsement.  And, of course, a candidate has no control over who endorses them. But, go to minute 49 of this video of Paul’s January 8 town hall meeting in New Hampshire. After the event, Paul is greeted briefly by Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss of the anti-Israel fringe group, who thanks Paul and tells him that Judaism is a religion which “should never be transformed into a nationalism.” Paul warmly replies, “Good advice, good advice.”

This is the latest in a series of questionable associations as articulated in this video by conservative evangelical leader Gary Bauer. Food for thought for friends of Israel voting in upcoming Republican primaries.

This man will never make it to be our president. Unlike Obama, this man is being vetted in front of the American people and his racism is a big issue.

    America’s people stand with Israel.

Ultimately, God is Israel’s defender/protector, and for that matter, the U.S.’s as well. I think Paul did not really “digest” what was said to him. It is hard to assess quick situations & statements

I read an article of a Jewish person backing up the fact that Ron Paul was oppossing to US foreign aid, he said that US gives so much in aid to Israel and then it turns around and gives even more to enemy States of Israel. RP was saying is that the US cannot afford to keep this money dishing out to give to the world as the US is near bankruptcy. The Jewish gentleman agreed with RP’s stand and added Israel does not really need the US monies as they create an obligation to Israel to follow (and maybe even obey)the US incentives and plans for the Middleeast region. The gentlemaan said: “We, Israel, have enough money to take care of our expenses. Let my people go”. The man was indicating that by Israel receiving funds from the US, Israel becomes an accomplice to US actions in the region. I can understand that, I see no anti-Israel sentiment on what the man expressed. Let my people go, so the Lord can take charge of Israel affairs. I see this man closer to God than to many Jewish politicians.

I guess no one reads the bible anymore because if they did they would know that God will not intervene in the affairs of Israel until he sends his Messiah. Oh we have signs in the havens and in earthly events; like Israel being a nation again and the capture of Jerusalem in 1967 but YHWH has not intervened directly and when he does you will definitely know it.

It is good to see the Evangelicals and pro-Israel people know that Ron Paul is a crack-pot…

His supporters hate Jews…I know this…I have studied Ron Paul for years…

He is the pied piper of anti-Semites…

Ask any Ron Paul supporter…they don’t like Jews, they don’t like Israel, and they don’t like modern America…they feel that America should look like a William Jennings Bryant or Father Couglin America…with bizarre economic policies…

Jan…Good info…I can guarantee you that Paul will NOT get elected…because he is working against God w/respect to Israel. Obama got elected as a judgement from God against USA, because of Abortion deaths, Homos rights, infidelity in marriage, etc. But we have paid that price and suffered…it won’t happen again in 2012. We now have a last chance to repent and pray and choose a conservatist…then more praying for next Rep. Pres to do right also.

I am still undecided as to whom I support for President but someone the USA does NOT need is Obama. He was at one time a Christian which in my mind is an ungodly religion. I believe much which has been reported by Luke about Yeshua, but the information written by the trilogy differs significantly with that attributed to John. Which John? That one Gospel is written enigmatically.
To summarize, Governor Romney is now considered the front runner for the Republican nomination, so the reports concerning Doctor Paul may be moot.

Ron Paul has been running for President for how long now? He does well in the beginning but loses steam quickly when people realize he is not electable and we don’t want Obama winning again because, Israel will be in bigger trouble with an Obama in a 2nd tearm than the 1st because he doesn’t have to worry about campaigning again and pleasing every group that supports him.

Paul is truly stunning in the Negative way. I really don’t think he has a clue about other countries or cultures. The latest I’ve heard him say that America didn’t need to fight in WWII and he blamed America for the attack on Pearl Harbour. How do you even respond to that kind of thinking. I guess for Paul it’s perfectly okay for dictators like Hitler to invade other countries and you could go further by saying then he must think okay that the death camps were there to?

I watched the video from this article and couldn’t find anything in Ron Paul’s comments that were offensive to Israel. In fact, as he stated, eliminating foreign aid which we distribute to Israel’s enemies at 5 times what we give Israel, would be to their benefit. We should love God’s chosen people, pray for them and the peace of Jerusalem, and trust that HE will protect Israel as HE has promised in HIS WORD. I am sorry the political Christian right attacks Dr Paul. I am a fundamental, Bible believing, born again Christian who has been walking with the Lord for many decades. I don’t need Gary Bauer or anyone with a political agenda to influence my thinking.

OK, Elise. I’m not at upset by the idea of lessening some of our financial aid to Israel. It would put Israel in a better position to do what it needs to do without constantly having to go to the US for approval. But how on earth can Ron Paul say he “respects Israel’s sovereignty” and then go on to harshly, unfairly criticize Israel’s attempts to defend itself? Remember in 2009 when he said Israel has turned Gaza into a “concentration camp”? You can’t simply ignore this and claim to be “pro-Israel.” But that’s what you’re doing.

ELISE, FROM ONE FUNDAMENTALIST BORN CHRISTAIN TO ANOTHER, I BELIEVE THAT YOU SHOULD REREAD THE OLD TESTAMENT BOOKS AGAIN. JEHOVA GOD CLEARLY STATES THAT HE WILL “BLESS THOSE WHO BLESS YOU,AND CURSE THOSE WHO CURSE YOU.” DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE THAT RON PAUL IS BLESSING ISRAEL WHEN HE HE SIDES WITH NETUREI KARTA AND RABBI WEISS WHEN THEY CONTRIDICT THE UNADULTERATED WORD OF GOD THAT STATES THAT ALL OF ISRAEL IS HIS AND THAT HE PERSONALLY GAVE THE LAND TO HIS “CHOSEN PEOPLE”, “THE APPLE OF HIS EYE”, THE JEWS?
WHAT DO YOU THINK THE MOVEMENT IN 1948 AND THE EIGHT DAY WAR IN 1968 WAS ABOUT? THIS FULFILLED GOD’S PROPHECTIC WORD THAT ISRAEL WOULD BECOME A NATION.
BY SUPPORTING ISRAEL PRAYERFULLY, AND FINANCIALLY IS BLESSING THEM. THEY NEED TODAY MORE THAN ANY OTHER TIME IN THEIR HISTORY OUR UNCONDTIONAL SUPPORT.
RON PAUL ALSO BELIEVES THAT IRAN IS NOT A THREAT TO ISRAEL OR US IF IT POSSESSES A NUCLEAR WARHEAD. WHEN THIS MONSTER AHMADINEJAD HAS DECLARED THAT ISRAEL IS AS A “ROTTING CORPSE” AND NEED TO BE REMOVED FROM THE FACE OF THE EARTH! THE SAME MANIAC WHO CLAIMS WAS VISITED BY AN “ANGEL” TO TELL HIM HE MUST BEGIN ARMAGEDDON SO THAT THE MUSLIM MESSIAH WILL COME.
RON PAUL IS SO FAR OUT OF TOUCH WITH MANY ISSUES THAT BORDER ON LUNACY.
WE ALREADY HAVE AN ANTI-SEMITIC, SOCIALIST IN THE WHITE HOUSE, WE CAN’T AFFORD A DELUSIONAL, OUT OF TOUCH MAN TO REPLACE HIM.

They are a disgrace to the Jewish community and should be not heard from because they do not speak for those who are the majority who hold Israel dear to our hearts who veiw Israel as the homeland of the Jews. They should be band from Israel but that is not the Jewish way. But they would band another Jew from the community. They are the extreme the traitors of all modern western Jews.

i think ron paul is out of his league about israel/united states if he gets president he will destroy u.s./israel relationship he already agreed with the ultra-orthodox jews to help them take control of jerusalem and throw everyone out and turn it into a ultra orthodox country no jews allowed there except them. its sickening. people will fight them off,i rather have a presidential candidate who supports u.s./israel relationship and continue to help and support isael and block palestinians from getting israel they have no right to it.and to keep jerusalem united by all jews who live there.and christians and jews stand together american cannot and should not curse israel if they do god will strike america with something who knows what it could be.american needs to wake up alarm is going off vote a candidate we can trust who will support israel and u.s. and show good faith and good work, and say no to ultra orthodox’s request is a threat from them. pray for jerusalem’s safety and peace and god will protect them. i will not vote ron paul sorry i am not voting this year look what happen to obama was voted and that was wrong choice, for america i am sorry i do not and will not vote this year i cannot trust anyone in washington no more and all over u.s. cannot trust them most now have a evil plan forget it

You MUST vote! People complain about who represents them and the direction that their country is being taken by their “leaders” and then do NOTHING about it! Believe me, I understand that there are attributes to “not like” about almost ANY candidate. But to have Obama in charge for another 4 years would be a disaster!!! Take charge of your life, do some research, and volunteer on some election campaigns. Maybe you’ll change your mind about at least ONE of the candidates. ANY American citizen who cares about the relationship between America and Israel *MUST* vote in 2012!!

So, is that all you have??? Ron Paul shook someones’s hand, and uttered good advice. Was this statement HEARD by anyone other than the Rabbi? Paul did not make it a remark in a speech. Perhaps the Rabbi had his say, and Paul did not hear it well or could not even here it and just said some generic statement as he shook hands. This article has little substance, no proof, and is much ado about nothing. I am PRO ISRAEL all the way. She is entitled to her land by HaShem Himself and the Palestinians have no right to it. The author of this story need more PROOF before I would consider changing my support for Ron Paul.

Just a few of the sites you can visit- or do your own search, there’s plenty of information out there to show Ronpaul’s anti-Israel stance; or at the least his ambivalence to Israel or convoluted thinking on the mid-east. If the choice comes down to him and Romney (or another moderate) then I’d go with Paul. But we still have Perry, Gingrich and Santorum in the race. All of these are better on Israel than Ronpaul, so at this point in the game I see no reason to support his candidacy.

Shalom- remove the current authority from DC, but don’t replace him with another chaotic character!

Good advice Robert, When one gets their information from the horses mouth, they can
obey God’s word in John 7:24 “Judge not
according to the appearance, but judge
        righteous judgement.”

If you truly love Israel as you say, then it’s a contradiction that you support Ron Paul. But that’s the way with Ron Paul supporters….they are like a rock star’s groupies. No common sense.

There are many things spoken in campaigns that may be taken the wrong way. I mean, I heard things from Obama that I knew at the time were impossible mathematically but were believed by too many people. The proof is in the pudding and the pudding is sour.

Ron Paul stated that the U.S. should stop all aid to Israel and that Israel should return to the borders it had before 1967. We can never stop supporting Israel.

think ron paul is definitely wrong about Israel. we americans know what the bible states about not standing with Israel against all opposition to them and their government or religion.

The Bible states the Lord will bless those that bless Israel and curse them that curse Israel. This does not suggest defending militarily or financially in violation of Israeli sovereignty. I long for the UN and the Hillary Clintons to leave Israel alone to decide her own policies, settlement issues and defensive strategies. That is all Ron Paul is saying and it is crystal clear from his own mouth.
